Behind the Scenes
Today Belongs to the Sledge Hammer

The church gymnasium transformation has finally begun. We had brainstormed countless wall layouts that would preserve the original running track but none would allow for an optimal climbing experience. I think you can see how the space is opening up as the track is carefully removed piece by piece.
Some may be mourning the loss of makeshift pickleball courts and roller skating rinks, but we are filled with nothing but encouragement by everyone we speak to from the community. This will soon be another warm gathering place for all those who live and play in South Knox.
With the big walls revealing themselves, our imagination is now filled with paint choices, furnishing options, and space for murals. What do you see?

Our wall builders, Vertical Solutions, are scheduled to start the installation of the climbing walls in February. In the meantime we are working hard on all the many pieces it takes to create a climbing gym, from air filtration systems to staff interviews to soap dispensers to fitness equipment and so much more. We are excited about every step of the way.
